Final Word

One week ago, the Mayor and City Council decided to change/alter my world and my neighbors forever – Why? To allow my neighbor to build a huge (bigger than his house) metal storage unit for his boats, cars, trucks, etc.

Private property is a privilage and responsibility. Sadly, the Mayor, Torrans, and most of hte City Council don’t see it that way.

  1. While I understand the writer’s concerns, the council had no choice, under existing city ordinance, but to issue a building permit. Anything less than that, likely would have seen a team of lawyers descend upon the local government. Jefferson does not need another lawsuit to go with the others that it currently has.

What the citizens of Jefferson need to petition their council members on, is to come up with Historical as well as city-wide zoning ordinances. If you look at the books, currently, Jefferson does not have a comprehensive zoning ordinance.
